Activation Code Issues
Problems entering or using your activation code
If you're having trouble activating a screen with the 4-digit code, check the common issues below. For the full activation walkthrough, see Activating Your First Screen.
Code expired
Activation codes expire after 15 minutes. Select the Refresh Code button on the Roomcaster app to generate a new one, or restart the app on your device. A fresh 4-digit code will appear on screen.
Code not working
- Make sure you're entering the code exactly as shown on the TV screen.
- Double-check that there are no extra spaces before or after the code.
- Verify you're on the correct activation page — scan the QR code shown on the TV, or go directly to roomcaster.tv/activate in your browser.
"Screen already activated"
Each device can only be activated once. If you see this message:
- The device may already be connected to your account under a different screen name
- Check your Screens page to see if the device is listed
- If you need to re-activate, remove the existing screen from your dashboard first, then restart the app on your device and activate with a fresh code
Can't find the activation page
There are two ways to get to the activation page:
- Scan the QR code displayed on the TV screen in the Roomcaster app
- Go directly to roomcaster.tv/activate in your browser
You don't need to create a screen entry first. The activation process creates the screen automatically when you enter the code from your device.
