Image, video, and audio formats that work with Roomcaster
Accepted formats
Roomcaster supports the following file types for upload:

Important notes
- Videos are automatically transcoded to optimal quality for streaming to your devices. You don't need to worry about encoding settings — Roomcaster handles it for you.
- For best results, use 1920x1080 (Full HD) resolution for both images and videos. This matches the native resolution of most displays and ensures your content looks sharp.
- Animated GIFs are supported but may use more bandwidth than videos. For longer animations, consider converting to MP4 for better performance.
- SVG files work well for logos and graphics with crisp edges at any size. They scale perfectly to any resolution.
For optimal display quality: upload images at 1920x1080 pixels and videos at 1080p using H.264 MP4 format.
Video processing
After you upload a video, Roomcaster transcodes it into multiple quality levels optimized for streaming. This process runs automatically in the background.
- Short videos (under 2 minutes) typically process in under a minute
- Longer videos may take several minutes depending on file size and length
- You can check the processing status on the Media page
Once processing is complete, your video is ready to use in programs.
Unsupported formats
If you try to upload a file type that isn't listed above, the upload will be rejected. If you have content in an unsupported format, convert it to one of the supported formats before uploading. Most video editors can export to MP4, and most image editors can save as JPG or PNG.
